Guys Wearing Tights!?

Recommended Posts

  • 1 month later...

like most men on this site I wear tights from late September right though to mid March every working day usually black 30 plus opaque tights under my work gear . I started wearing long-john at first and I found these use to ride up and i would have restricted movement in my job, but some time ago I plucked up the courage to start wearing tights and haven't looked back since

I have only worn tights once, and that was doing a job that had to be done on a super cold day. I am not sure that it helped, but then again, I am not sure anything could have as it was so cold.

But that being said, no one can predict the future, and it is short-sighted to think that anyone can.

While wearing Tights and Stockings was a predominantly female thing from the start, however...the wearing of High Heels actually started out as a male thing, and progressed to it being prominently female. So, maybe that is what will happen with stocking and tights? We are talking about fashion here, and that is in constant flux.

Greetings there Stockingtoes.

And welcome to SHQ. Fashions are fickle and you are correct, what the future holds is unknown. This I know in that often fashions do repeat at some point in the uptime though seldom are they as intriguing as when first introduced or adopted, much like "remakes". As in flicks, music and vids few are as good than the original. There are exceptions- "The Thing", a sci fi bit was terrible. The second run benefited greatly from both far better acting and computer generated optics and the "Thomas Crown Affair" was also superior to the first. And most music that is dome over lacks soul compared to the original and usually just sucks unless the first was really poor from the start. When the miniskirt came back it was little related to the first. Then again I came from the days of miniskirts before pantyhose when every civilized gal on the planet had the need to wear hosiery much like not today. Oh those were great Legster days!

And pantyhose/tights on guys do have applications- keeps leeches and ticks from biting and on moderately cold days does offer insulative qualities. So who knows what folks will indeed wear as fashions like all are always in flux. After all, who would have imagined the popularity of tattoos on women decades ago?

Good post Stockingtoes.

Best,

Dworkin

Something that caught my attention earlier is someone in 2018 who posted that he wore shorts at infant school and wished that tights had been “part of the boys winter school uniform”. Well, that resonated with me, for at my primary school in the late 1960s, boys had to wear shorts up to P4, and of course, while tights were not part of the uniform, I distinctly remember me and a few of the other boys in my class wearing them under our shorts (in place of knee socks) during really icy and snowy spells.

So I emailed my sister to check (who is a year and a bit older than me), and she was quickly able to corroborate it, she even remembers the two of us trudging through the snow to school in our wellies, tights and knee length gaberdines, before going our separate ways at the school entrance. She also has a photo dated December 1968 showing her and about 10 chums at the school Christmas party in a line up with Santa (probably the headmaster lol) - she was 8 then.  She says that one of the boys was clearly wearing tights under his shorts. Oh... and that everyone in the photo, boys AND girls, were wearing those brown leather T-bar sandals.  Cringe.

Maybe this was peculiar to where we lived in rural Northern Ireland.  I imagine it might sound strange from a modern perspective.  But back then I don’t remember anyone batting an eyelid about it.  As my sister concluded in her email, it was a different era.

I'm a guy that loves wearing tights, I do so almost every day under my jeans or work trousers.  I love the feel of them and the extra warmth they offer in the winter.  However, my wife is not supportive at all of me wearing them and hence I have to keep this to myself

Six years ago i wore high denier and sweater weight tights as thermal underwear for an entire winter on an outdoor job. I very much enjoyed the fresh air and wonderful comfort of tights in a Canadian winter that sometimes dipped below -30C ! Sometimes I wear them just for the pure enjoyment of it.

I love your legs in tights ??

I absolutely love wearing tights and stockings and have done so since I was 12yo when curiosity got the better of me, I'm now 52 and still enjoy wearing. It's very common for men to wear hosiery with some retailers relating that a substantial chunk of their customers are male.

I tend to wear opaque tights under my trousers or jeans a lot in the winter/cooler months, never used to like wearing them, but find them relatively comfortable and they keep your legs warm. Got to wear the right panty with them or just dont wear anything under them.

CDR Superlucido 20 - Our all time fave Pantyhose.

We wear them so regularly that every year I place a wholesale order with Cecilia De Rafael for myself & the missus.

Nothing comes close to their Silky Smooth Ultra Glossy Yarn & we love the fact that they come up to our Chests & are Sheer To Waist with a Cotton Gusset (which we always cut out for easy access)

Unlike other Hose the CDR's are extremely hard wearing & if pulled they don't ladder which is unreal for their sheerness.

This simple fact is ladies underwear is far far better than men’s and the look the feel and the materials etc is why men who give it a go won’t go back to boxers. Who wants thick as bulls lugs cotton killing your crotch everyday when you can have fine silks and nylon with elastic that keeps everything comfortable and feels great.

I started wearing pantyhose/tights at a very early age. When I was younger I would wear them under my pants when I went out. Last summer I started wearing them out with shorts and have been wearing them this summer again. In all of the times I have been out I have not had one person say anything to me about them. As far as I know I have not had any strange looks either. I just go out about my own business as if I don't even have them on. It is a great feeling to be able to go out like that.

just saying -- all of the crossdressing men on here who say "i go out of doors regularly like that and nobody has said a word to me" ......it doesn't mean you're accepted and it's approved of.   most people won't say anything these days, because they've been beaten into acceptance in the name of tolerance and not "being a hater".  this is why people go out in shocking hairstyles, full of piercings, vulgar tats, half naked clothing, arse cracks hanging out, grotesque body shapes, blasting music, children in tow acting wild, dogs on a lead and treated like they own the pavement, etc.

most people are silently saying "what the hell is he wearing?"  you want to go out in tights?  fine.  whatever makes you happy.  but please don't extrapolate that into "everyone is cool with it and accepts me as a woman."  most don't.
