Now, I think it has it's place and can look sexy!!!
The best ones I've seen are the ones where the tights are very sheer and the stockings like wise!!!
I know there'll be a lot who think this is sacriledge but I think the effect is a lot better than I thought it would be after having seen it!!!
HOWEVER, it'll never replace just stockings and suspenders at the top of my affections!!!

However I am not knocking those that like the look and feel of this....it would not do for us all to like and do exactly the same things

Altogether the effect was as though i were wearing fancy patterned t***ts and whilst it looked ok I`m not keen to repeat the experiment. Answering the call of nature was no easy task either, more akin to untangling crochet

My initial reaction to this practice was I thought it to be stupid. I'll preface that with saying I've seen it before and long ago starting back in the "Punk" era, saw it with the Goth's and have seen it too occasionally in Ann Arbor among those with more cash that brains (amazing how many will invest a grand sum to look like trash) and almost with all, the effect looked like an eyesore. More recently, while answering a fashion question I came across images using this concept and there are examples on Flickr that caught my attention in that they were rather tasty. None of that garish gark. Even more recently, I had a personal encounter while shopping for the normal stuff one acquires (I am much more domestic than I might seem- my wife has been pretty much on her back and not mobile since mid October and I've taken over the day to day operations to include stocking the larder and such) with a stellar fashion example. I stuck up conversation with a young, tallish lass, a little less than six feet, with tri-colored long and I'll say stylish hair, a beret and not quite hot pink but definitely stand out, grab your eyes pantyhose/tights with a short skirt and boots. Over these she had patterned "spider webbed" black pantyhose/tights with a random patter to them. This offered a very interesting contrast and far from garish, it was an interesting delight. Now, without any intended denigration intended, she was on the "heavy" side, a fact she made mention of as we talked for awhile. I made mention darker shades would make her appear slimmer. She said she knew, didn't particularly care and was comfortable with her physique. Turns out she was the proverbial art student and surprisingly, not at U of M. I asked if she might be interested in posing for pics and said where's the camera? Apparently, she does some off the wall modeling and I asked not more. What else was best, she had a most pleasing smile that matched her personality. I introduced her to SHQ at which she stated she had no interest in stockings and I left it it that. She seemed not in the least offended. Also seems she shops little and the chances of another meeting would seem to be by chance. The contrast displayed was visually intriguing and done exceptionally well, certainly in contrast to the usual spate of fashion refugees in and around Ann Arbor. A marvelous encounter with a charming young sprite, nice on the eyes and equally pleasing to talk with, an unusual, wonderful rarity. So Lee, I now have to admit that there are cases where the combo can be most inciting when done right.
Enjoy,
Dworkin

I certainly don't find the look to be trashy. I hope you feel the same.
