Stockings Hq Forum Terms And Conditons

59 posts in this topic

The full Forum terms and conditions can be found here:

http://forum.stockingshq.com/index.php?app=core&module=help&do=01&HID=13

In addition, we have created this code of conduct:

The discussion forums are the flagship of the site. However, new visitors can be put off by the sheer (a pun, haha) volume of contributions and not quite know where to start.

Forum topics and aims
The six forums have different aims and objectives, but the same rules. Here's a breakdown of what they cover:

The main forum: This is the best place to discuss all generic stockings issues including their cultural significance, place in society, and general chat about anything not covered elsewhere! The main forum is frequently hilarious, occasionally bad-tempered, but always compelling. Do not be afraid to join in, but please bear in mind the general posting rules, below!

The international forum: This is for all non-English language posts. It's a bit like the main forum but in Spanish, French, German, Norwegian, Italian, Swedish, etc. Please remember - views expressed in all of the forums are those of the individual contributor - not those of Stockings HQ!

The outfits/sightings forum: Spotted stockings in the high street? Or just dressing to impress? This is the place to see and be seen!

The product forum: This is the forum to discuss and give feedback on specific brands and styles of stockings and associated items of clothing.

The male issues forum: This is the place for men who wear stockings to discuss the issues that arise. It is not a seedy pick-up joint! Explicit messages and pornographic fantasies will be deleted, and user names and IP numbers banned. Please be considerate.

The off-topic forum: What's in a name? Ironically nothing is off-topic in the off-topic forum, with the usual caveats about not posting anything libellous, defamatory, obscene or illegal.

General posting guidelines

In general the forums are self-regulating although there are admins to step in when things get out of hand. There are very few guidelines and very few subjects are taboo. However, to ensure the smooth running of the site there are a few basic guidelines we ask you to observe.

DO NOT post anything illegal, obscene, defamatory or libellous. Similarly, do not post anything which breaches the copyright of another.

DO NOT post cross dressing or outfit/sightings messages in the main forum. There is a place for those further down the corridor. Do not post pantyhose sightings in the sightings forum as you're kind of missing the point.

DO NOT reply to your own post just in order to bump it back up to the top of the page. If there's nothing new to add, please use the private message system instead.

Stockings HQ isn't an adult site, so we ask that you don't post adult material. However please do not raise the thorny of subject of stockings worn by girls under the age of 18 as you will be deleted!

Please respect other people who take time to contribute. We are all here for one reason: a love of classic hosiery. Heated debate is good but off-topic personal abuse has no place on Stockings HQ and will be deleted. Please report any offensive messages you see by clicking on the "Repost Post" link at the end of it.

Remember, views expressed are those of the individual contributor, and not necessarily those of Stockings HQ. We reserve the right to delete messages that could cause us trouble!

By posting a message you assign rights to reproduce it in any form to Stockings HQ. Occasionally messages on a similar thread are edited together to form articles for display elsewhere on the site.

Please report any problems immediately by using the "report post" function (a button on the right hand side at the bottom of posts) and tell us, very briefly, what the problem is. In an emergency please call the warehouse on 01462 677970.

Please remember: those who break the rules may well have their messages deleted and/or have their account closed and IP number blocked.

To keep yourself safe, we advise you not to put your personal contact information on the forums, or to give it out to others. If you do, please follow sensible safety precautions.

That's it! This page will be amended from time to time but it is never supposed to be onerous. Enjoy the forums and share the passion!

Hi there,

Just had a read of the rules and have a question regarding 'By posting a message you assign rights to reproduce it in any form to Stockings HQ. Occasionally messages on a similar thread are edited together to form articles for display elsewhere on the site'. I assume you do not expect the right to reproduce copyrighted images in any form?

Cheers,

Steve

No, of course. Sorry for any confusion. It's just that periodically I compile the text highlights into articles for the articles section of the site (although I haven't done it for about seven years. Eeek!

Are members allowed to post the urls of their websites in their signatures? It's just that I have a site which would be of great interest to stocking lovers on these forums.

Your URL has been removed due to complaints from other forum members regarding its content so in your case I'm afraid not

URL's also have to adhere to the rules so any dodgy content will see them removed from the links section

I hope that answers your question

Hi David, can i just ask why we seem to have double standards on this site. I'm fairly new on here. My first posting was, granted a little racey. And i was rebuked for it (even though it didn't contain any foul langauge). Reasons being this is a respecful site. Fair enough, i can and will accept this. So why is it we have people virtually stalking women via Google street views. I thought this site was for consenting adults. Admittadly I did checkout one of the Google pics. But then realised the poor woman had no idea she had been photographed and is now being pawed over by nothing more than Peeping Toms on this site. Which is vastly different to looking at the images in the Gallery of willing participaiting members. Many thanks Angus.

I dont know the best place to put this comment but I hope someone will see it and hopefully act upon it please.

On the old Forum you could put someone on Ignore and there they stayed. Now, every time I open up I find the people I have put on Ignore have been reinstated again. I personally can't remember the names of all that I have put on Ignore so the old system was handy. Now I find I have to chat with someone for a while before he/she says something that I remember I Ignored them for a while ago.

Is it possible to go back to the old system where once Ignored they stay there until released by the person who Ignored them

Many thanks

Gail

I just noticed your post has not been answered.

Unfortunately we cannot go back to any of the older systems as this is an entirely new chat room from a different company. However I know David has asked for this and other options to be added.

You are losing connection and the message from the chat room says you have been kicked out. You will be notified/warned before you are kicked by a Moderator.

You have been in the chat room several times and there is no ban on your account.

p.s. the heading of this thread is rules for the forum but most of the posts appear to be about people being kicked from the chat room, which seems to be a different subject.

You're not the only one Seams & heels, I've experienced the very same cut and paste difficulty. Still can't figure out how to do it successfully. :(

But other forum members and I have found this doesn't work for us.  I'm not sure which bit of that you find difficult to accept - we're not being stupid, it just doesn't work.  Perhaps different configurations result in different experiences.  I use IE 11 and Windows 8.1

IT truly is NOT my thing...don't know shite from shineola when it comes to IT. What I can contribute to this thread is that I use both Windows 8.1 and IE and can't copy/paste to this forum no matter what methods I use. :(

It's very much easier in recent weeks - when all the big forums have introduced a simplified (DMCA type) online take-down form coinciding almost to the day with the recent revenge porn legislation.

Something that S+h appears to be fighting against.......

Linda

Linda, your repetition of the suggestion that the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 can be used to assist with copyright infringement is becoming increasingly dull.  Especially as your misconceptions have been laid totally bare on other threads.

The Digital Millenium Copyright Act is an American Act.  The major forums such as flickr, tumblr, fotki are all American.  The Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 is a UK Act.  It is only enforceable in the UK.  The offence can only be committed by "a person" who intends to cause distress.  So flickr, tumblr, fotki et al cannot commit any offence under the Act because firstly they are not "a person" and secondly they have no intention to cause harm.

As for the increased ease of removing copyright infringements from websites coinciding with the implementation of the revenge porn legislation, it is simply that - a coincidence.  It might also simply be a coincidence that on April 13th, the day the offence went live, Hillary Clinton announced her intention to run for the American Presidency.  Presumably she waited for the law to pass before making her announcement, just in case Bill was intending to release any pictures of her.  Or was that just coincidental too?

Windows 10 is due out at the end of July. This will be a free download to those using Windows 7 and 8 & 8.1. It will include an all new browser called Microsoft Edge. This could be a whole new bundle of joy. I wonder how many programmes will not work with 10?

It also comes with Cortana.... er, yippee.

Those with windows 8 & 8.1 will probably have noticed a new window shaped icon to the right of their task bar at the foot of the screen. It looks like you can download 10 via this "window".

I believe, due to fluctuation and the repeated moving of goal posts, that the rules set out need serious revision.

I believe that common sense should prevail as the rules cannot possiby cover every eventuality. And it's not technically a democaracy unless everyone wants to start chipping in towards the £500 or so it costs to keep things running every month...

How many members are there, David? Peanuts!

When you allowed me to return, you laid down some conditions, remember? One of these was not to step over a line. Please tell me how it is that all other members have a different line, all different from mine or other members. Rules are there to cover EVERY eventuallity, else there is no point in having rules.

I'll happily contribute a nominal monthly amount to the upkeep of the SHQ forums.  My offer is without condition.

Who else is prepared to step up and do the same?
